About
Hi! My name is Alexis, and I am the owner and founder of Daylynn Co. Here’s a little bio of my art and business journey: (I’m a talker, so bear with me)
Growing Up:
I have always loved art, and creating cool things has been a life-long hobby of mine. As a kid I would draw and paint, and eventually I got into photography. Throughout middle school I practiced drawing more, did fun photoshoots, and edited slideshows to my favorite songs, on iMovie. When I was 13 I started my youtube channel to post diy’s and slime videos, (all of which are private now lol).
High School:
In high school I bought my first DSLR camera and practiced my photography a lot more (I thought I was taking the most revolutionary photos haha). I joined a digital media class, dove into video editing, and became obsessed! I would stay late after school, editing different projects for class and for youtube. During my junior year I scrapbooked my memories from each previous high school year, and in 2020 I discovered digital art. I sold a few digital drawings here and there, but nothing ever really came of it. My senior year, I sold my DSLR and bought my Sony A7iii. With this camera I did paid photoshoots, and felt accomplished in my work.
College:
In college I took many art classes which revived the part of me that loves to draw and paint! After getting my associate’s degree I decided to get my bachelor’s in marketing, which I am currently pursuing. In recent years I began making a lot of short-form videos of my adventures with friends, and made a monthly recap video for all of 2022. This was one of my favorite things I had ever done and I still go back to watch those videos often. When I was 20 I bought my first vlog camera, the Sony ZV1, and decided to start making more youtube videos! I still love this camera-it’s what I currently use.
My Goal:
I fell in love with the idea of starting my own business, and I knew I wanted it to be creative and representative of who I am as a person. I want to positively impact other's lives, spread the message of Jesus, and create art that can be worn, displayed, and used in everyday life. I have a few more business ventures I plan to pursue in my future, but right now I am so excited to present Daylynn Co.!
Long Story Short:
It took me about a year to finally stop thinking about starting my business, and just start the thing! After a lot of work, (like seriously, who knew creating a brand and website would be so complicated?), I did it, we are here, and it’s real!!!
I saw a cool shirt that said “Creativity comes from the Creator”, and I loved that because it is so true. I want to give glory to God in everything that I do! I also cannot forget to thank my loved ones for their support and encouragement in all my endeavors, along with a tribute to my beloved dog, Lady, who passed away in early 2024. She was my best friend in dog-form, and before she passed I knew I wanted her to be the mascot of the business. Thank you all for supporting my small business!
I cannot wait to create for you, and I hope you love it as much as I do.
Love, Alexis Daylynn <3
